South Africa patients experience
Dear Curtis, Andrea, Wendy & Lim.
I am now settled back in beautiful New Zealand with my Dear Wife Sally and my Family, with beautiful fine, settled, sunny, warm weather.
Seoul, Korea seems now, so far away. It is exactly one week today I arrived home and let me tell you all, I feel great and know I made the best decision to go with Proton Beam Radiation Treatment for my prostate cancer.
Thank you most sincerely for my Proton Beam Of Hope experience with you all at KMI. The whole experience has been such a positive in our lives and I did so enjoy sharing the whole process with my fellow patient Terry and his Sister Jo-Anne. We shared a lot of fun and laughter together to and fro to treatment every day at the center. I would especially like to express my gratitude in writing to the following ;
Firstly, Andrea, for your prompt, professional communication back to me following my initial approach to KMI after viewing your wonderful web-site. Then your follow-up on my inquiries as to detail, price etc. You were outstanding compared to four other Proton Radiation Centres I communicated with elsewhere in the world. Secondly, Sang-Mi, aka Wendy, what words I now write could not fully do justice to express my gratitude for your help, guidance and care , not only for myself ,but also for my wife Sally, during our time in Seoul. Your willingness to go the extra mile, your professionalism and your instructions to help me find various sights and attractions were faultless, your lovely smile and warm personality were an absolute delight. Most of all Thank You for your gift of friendship to Sally and I. I do hope we can reciprocate if you ever decide to come to New Zealand.
Thirdly, Curtis, I really enjoyed meeting you in Seoul. Thank You so much for your friendship and for sharing your vision with me for a better world through Proton Beam Therapy. You are certainly are an inspirational human-being and as CEO of The Korean Medical Institute your organisation is one to be truly proud of.
Last, but not least, I would like to mention your other employees, especially Hahn, aka Lucy, Mr. Seok, my driver, both of whom were delightful to deal with and are a credit to your company.
Finally, I would also like to express my gratitude to The Cancer Center , especially Dr. Kwan Ho Cho, Joo Young Kim, Hyun Ah Lim, Miss Park, Cheong and Kim my wonderful Therapists who were highly professional and caring in helping me through my treatments and all the Management and Staff of that outstanding Institution.
They can be justly proud of such a world-class, professional, Medical Treatment and Research Center.
I must also Thank you for the wonderful accommodation and transport package that KMI arranged for Sally and I at the DMC Ville. My apartment was modern and very comfortable. I really enjoyed living there and coming home each day from treatment and/or sightseeing to my lovely retreat, quiet, warm and comfortable, loaded with all the amenities one could wish for. The Digital Media City area is a delightful part of Seoul to reside in, with many interesting walks and attractions nearby.
The biggest bonus to our Korean experience was to meet and experience the many different Korean people with their friendship and rich culture who in turn made us feel very special and who have touched our lives forever in such a positive way. We will return.
We Hope we meet with you all again in the near future.
God Bless you and Good Health.
Merry Christmas and a Happy, prosperous New Year to you all.
Your Kiwi Friends.
Derek & Sally.
Statement of Appreciation for Dr Kwan-ho Cho and Proton Korea
Dear Dr Cho
Three weeks since my return, I am glad to say all remain well with me, as on that last review on Jan 22; Praise God.
I am deeply indebted to you and your dedicated team for the smooth passage of treatment, for which I’d repeat a word of “Thank You” here.
By my faith, I stand to attest for Jesus and accord Him all glory and honour. I believe entirely it was He who had made everything possible – the treatment and the heart and soul behind it all.
Had it not, I would not have known of such a cutting-edge technology; much less, the Proton Center. Nothing in my wildest imagination would have put me on a plane to sub-zero Korea, a land I scarcely knew and had had no prior connections.
Had it not for God, we would not have made it to Seoul; and, I would not have the privilege of coming under your care.
Like what Curtis and Andrea Poling had wished, I’d now make myself available to any who may be in need of proton therapy. With me, it had all been good – all 39 treatments – virtually free of side effects.
Special mention is made of your Radiologists, Mr Kim and Mr Jung, whom I have come to regard as brothers-in-Christ. For, the care and love they had shown me mirrored well that exemplified by Jesus Christ. Selfless and devoted, both gentlemen had been superlative in delivering the treatments. I owe much to them.
Lastly, Ms Lim Hyun-Ah and Wendy Lee cannot go unmentioned. If not for their seamless orchestration, our 67 days in Korea would not have gone that well. Like the Driver, Mr Cho, they deserve more than the few words expressed here. Thank you, Ladies. Thank you, Mr Cho.
